I used to jog along East Coast beach every Sunday morning. I saw this scene on one of those days. An artist had installed this amazing piece along the beach, pointing to the open skies. It is also very near Changi where our airport is, and the planes fly over these skies frequently just after take off or as they approach Singapore to land.

By chance, a group of people had gathered at a nearby picnic pavilion for a breakfast party of sorts. The pavilion is just off the photo. One of the guests was the user of this wheelchair, and for some reason, he was helped off it to join the party. He clearly had difficulty walking but he had lots of friends to help him.

I couldn’t resist snapping this photo of his empty wheelchair next to this joyful, exhilarating installation which carried the whimsical piece of advice: “Do not step on the cirrus clouds.”

Surely there is a message here….to reach for the sky no matter what your limitations, to embrace every new day or new challenge with hope, joy and positivity, and you’ll get there one day. Just don’t step on the Cirrus clouds.

What message do you see?

    1. Wow! How very nice of you! I am blown away! 🙂 I have never been invited to dinner before over the blog before. Thank you so much! I would love to when I am next in Sydney. And indeed, you must tell me when you are in Singapore! Then we can meet up. 🙂
